Number 3 is the winner!! I was very excited to win the category of "best use of different techniques in a scarf" in this year's scarf festival with my black coffee and milk coffee bubble scarf. I have already spent my winnings on one of the other beautiful scarves in the competition!! The exhibition of all the scarves runs until July 25th at the national wool museum in Geelong it is well worth the trip.
This is my final entry for this year's scarf festival- "Black coffee and milk coffee bubble scarf".
The colours of the background and the bubbles are reversed/ reflected on either side of the scarf. -Welcome winter with a warm, wearable, bubbly coffee!
I am a textile artist based in Melbourne Australia. In another life, I ran a florist shop "Rare Petals". Both crafts take some inspiration from ancient Japanese techniques- my flower shop concentrated on ikebana, and my current craft practice explores shibori, in particular on knitted felt.
