More Passap love

I have finally managed to knit some scarves on my Passap, I crocheted the ends to form a cowl and love the outcome!! Looking forward to exploring more patterns and techniques and hoping for some cool weather to put them to use.

Passap love

This is where have I been.
Getting to know my new Passap knitting machine.
It is a steep learning curve and after months of frustrating Passap tangles and tantrums I have finally made a little progress managing to knit a little scarf in pattern with the computer- Hooray!!!
I have now moved out of the battling the machine phase to new Passap love!!

'The Journey' scarf W.I.P

I have started my entry for this year's Scarf Festival- "The Journey"...."From Sunshine to Cape Schanck". At the moment it is very long and very stripey with many ends to weave in before I can start the real work of tying it ready for the dye pot and lastly the felting. Scarves will be displayed at the Geelong Wool Museum from June 16th. Time to get knitting!!

The excitment is building- Behind the scenes at the 2011 Scarf Festival

The annual Scarf Festival is coming!
In a moment of insanity, I sent my entry without actually sending in my scarf-hopefully it arrived safely!! The judges are now hard at work and the festival opens on Friday 24 June at the National Wool Museum in Geelong and runs till 21 of August 2011.

The final twist

I have finally cast off the last twist of my handknitted spiral scarf and I am hoping to try this technique of partial knitting on the knitting machine. Now the only question is- to felt or not to felt??

Too hot for knitting

After 2 days of 40 degrees, my plans to finish hand knitting this twisted spiral scarf failed. It really is too hot to knit! I am hoping a weekend cool change will be enough inspiration to finish the last few spirals as it has been on the needles since last winter!.

New work

This is my latest work in the bubble wrap range of scarves. They are all 100% wool and have a very handy loop at one end so you can wrap up securely to avoid those icy winds.
